Liverpool Close to Full Squad Health

Someone told Jurgen about the 2-for-1 sale at Tesco.

Headed into their tilt against Leicester City, Klopp will have nearly all of his charges to choose from.

With each passing week, Liverpool come ever closer to having their full first-team squad available. Headed into this Saturday’s match against Leicester City, Jurgen Klopp can count himself blessed to know that he has no new injury concerns seeking to complicate his tactical plans.

The long-term injury list is short and thankfully remains so with only Rhian Brewster and Alexander Oxlade-Chamberlain on the scratch list. While Oxlade-Chamberlain is looking to miss most, if not all, of the season, Rhian Brewster might be looking at a return soon. No official timetable yet for his return, but around the time that Brewster put pen to paper on his first professional contract with Liverpool last month, folks around the club sounded optimistic that he would be back on the pitch soon. With the buffer of the international break looming, this scribe has a glimmer of hope for an update once the break ends.

That leaves Dejan Lovren as the sole short-term injury concern on Klopp’s list. Lovren is still battling an injury sustained while on duty for Croatia at this past summer’s World Cup tournament that saw him lead the side to a second-place finish. No official timetable or update on his impending return was included in the club’s official injury report, but previous rumblings indicated a hope that Lovren would be available for selection sometime after the international break.

And so it stands that with this final match left ahead of a mini-reprieve from club football that the health of the team is about as good as one could have well and truly hoped. Here’s to seeing through a comprehensive victory on the weekend with no further injury concerns and the eventual return of all ailing Reds to full health.
