Reds could face competition from Chelsea for Pulisic

Chelsea are keen on long-term Liverpool target Christian Pulisic after opting against a move for Nabil Fekir, Goal report.

Dortmund youngster Pulisic, a player Jurgen Klopp admires, has been linked with the Reds for a number of years.

Speculation resurfaced over the summer after Pulisic bagged an impressive double when the two sides met in the International Champions Cup.

Pulisic is contracted to the Bundesliga side until 2020 but it has been suggested that Dortmund could be forced to sell him next summer rather than risk losing him on a Bosman transfer the following year.

Liverpool would likely position themselves near the head of the queue if the highly-promising Pulisic did become available, but will reportedly have to fight off competition from Chelsea, who weighed up a £65million move for the American over the summer.

Goal also claim that the Blues held talks over Lyon star Nabil Fekir, who was on the verge of joining Liverpool in June before the deal fell through, but chose to invest elsewhere.
