Salah and Kane rejected Real Madrid this summer
Mohamed Salah rejected the opportunity to join Real Madrid this summer, according to Spanish outlet El Pais.
According to reports, Madrid approached both Salah and Harry Kane in July as they sought a long-term replacement for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo.
El Pais claim that while Kane’s response was “lukewarm” (Tottenham rejected the move anyway), Salah’s was “conclusive”, and was followed shortly by him signing a new contract at Liverpool to put an end to any immediate transfer speculation.

Eden Hazard, however, remains keen on a move to the Bernabeu.
While on World Cup duty with Belgium, Hazard was quoted as saying: “After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different. Certainly after this World Cup.
“I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision – if they want to let me go. You know my preferred destination.”
Top players like Salah, Kane and Hazard will always be on the radar of the Spanish giants as long as they continue putting in eye-catching performances. Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea will no doubt continue to stand firm and do everything in their power to retain their key men, however.
