Alli should be fit for Reds clash after England injury
Tottenham’s Dele Alli should be fit for the visit of Liverpool this weekend despite withdrawing from the England squad, according to Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate.
England are due to play Switzerland on Tuesday but Alli has been forced to return his club early after picking up a minor muscle strain.
Inevitably, there were suggestions that Alli might be sidelined for the crucial meeting with the Reds on Saturday lunchtime.
Southgate, though, expects him to have recovered in time, indicating his early departure was likely a precautionary measure.
Jurgen Klopp can only hope Alli’s compatriots Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez all come through the clash with the Swiss unscathed.

Liverpool already know they will be without Adam Lallana, who suffered a groin strain training at St George’s Park last week, and Dejan Lovren.
Spurs, meanwhile, might be able to call upon Son Heung-min, who scored in a comfortable win in this fixture last season, after he returned from the Asian Games.
