Liverpool rejected numerous Solanke offers
Liverpool rejected as many as five loan offers for young striker Dominic Solanke this summer, according to David Lynch of the Evening Standard.
Suitors saw an opportunity to move for the 20-year-old, his prospects of game time at Anfield limited following an uninspiring debut season in which he only managed to score once.
However, Lynch reports that Liverpool “swiftly rejected” loan approaches from Premier League side Huddersfield, Championship outfits Aston Villa and Middlesbrough, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and even Ligue 1 Lyon.

Evidently, Jurgen Klopp thought it best that the Englishman continue his development in-house, even if that means representing Liverpool’s Under-23s.
Solanke was set to go into the season as Roberto Firmino’s deputy, but Daniel Sturridge has taken that mantle after an excellent pre-season.
Divock Origi’s failure to secure a move away from Anfield may well have nudged the relatively inexperienced Solanke even further down the pecking order.
He will soon face added competition from the promising Rhian Brewster, set to return from injury at the end of the year.
For the moment, it appears his only chance of starting games will come in the cup competitions.
