Mane: “Firmino works like an animal for us and makes things easier”

Top goalscorer Sadio Mane has reminded Liverpool supporters not forget about his “animal” team-mate Roberto Firmino, according to the Mirror.

Mane has started the 2018/19 season in prolific form, netting four times in Liverpool’s opening four games. Both Mane and teammate Mohamed Salah – who has two goals and two assists to his name so far – have been the subject of praise from pundits and fans alike

Mane has, however, moved to remind fans that fellow forward Firmino plays an integral role in the lethal attacking trident that has made Liverpool a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League and further afield.

Speaking to Bleacher Report, Mane said, “Lots of people like to talk about me and Salah. It’s nice to hear those things, but the strength of this Liverpool team is the collective.

“You also can’t forget that there’s a guy up front called Firmino who works like an animal for us and makes things easier.

“And the guys behind us do some extraordinary work. We try to benefit from that and help the team go forward.”

Mane will hope to continue his excellent form against Tottenham on Saturday.
