Key Liverpool star returns to training at Melwood with light ball work ahead of return

Trent Alexander Arnold

Trent Alexander Arnold has made a return to light training on Friday but is unlikely to face West Ham.

The German told the media that neither Trent nor Joe Gomez would be fit to face West Ham, saying:  “No, both not [available].

“[There’s] no return date for Joe. Trent is getting better and better and better. He is really close and I hope he is in full training next week, but not for Monday.”

After saying Trent would make a return to training next week, the young Scouser was pictured by the club’s official media channels at Melwood a few later hours doing  light”ball work sessions on the outdoor training pitches.”

Trent was sorely missed against Leicester City with Jordan Henderson failing to provide the same creativity down the right-hand side as his younger teammate does.

With the 20-year-old edging closer and closer to a return, Klopp will be relieved as Joe Gomez is likely to spend even more time on the sidelines after the German mentioned he might need another surgery on his leg.
