Xherdan Shaqiri insists Liverpool can uphold their imposing start to 2018-19 when they get back to action following the international break.

Liverpool will resume action against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, starting a seven-game run in 23 days.

The Reds will play Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea twice, Napoli and Man City in the space of the three-week spell.

He told Sky Sports: “I’m looking forward to the game (against Tottenham), especially now (because) in the next few weeks we have a lot of games, a lot of good games, difficult games. But we will try to keep our good performances and I hope we can win a lot of games.

“We train hard every day. You can see that there is a lot of quality in our team and we are hard-working every day. And competition in football is also good for the players.”
