Van Dijk praises Fabinho following Liverpool’s victory in Champions League

Virgil van Dijk has hailed Fabinho for his integration into the Liverpool side following their 4-0 victory against Red Star Belgrade.

Fabinho took control of Liverpool no.6 role with Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita rule out of the fixture through injury.

Speaking to BT Sport, he said: “Fabinho was fantastic. He won a lot of balls, made a lot of passes and I’m very happy for him. Xherdan offers something different. All of the players did well tonight. We made sure we kept a clean sheet as well.”

The Brazilian midfielder has only featured a handful of times this season for Jurgen Klopp’s side since his move from Monaco in the summer.
