Arise, Sir Kenny Dalglish: The King is Knighted

The Liverpool legend was officially recognized for being amazing by Prince Charles.

Kenny Dalglish was officially knighted on Friday at London’s trendy Buckingham Palace. The Liverpool legend discovered over the summer that he would receive the honor for his stellar career and for the selfless work he and his wife Marina Dalglish have done in the city of Liverpool.

Dalglish was a hugely successful player and manager at Liverpool, but the reason he is so beloved is because of his off-the-pitch contributions to the club and to the city.

“It’s humbling but you’re hugely proud,” said Dalglish. “You never set out in your life to do anything other than what your parents taught and wanted you to do.

“That was to be decent to people and if somebody needed help, you helped them. That’s all we’ve done.

“The three things they have recognised us for are all things really close to our hearts. Myself and Marina only did what we thought was right to be done.”

The King now rides into the weekend with the full powers of a British knight. He will get food delivered to his table quicker. He will get access to all the channels and streaming services on all of his devices. And he can borrow the dubbing sword anytime he wants as long as he signs it out.
