Watford must avoid making mistakes against Liverpool, says Javi Gracia

Javi Gracia

Watford manager Javi Gracia says his side will not change their style of play when they host Liverpool on Saturday, saying his players know they need to avoid making mistakes that the Reds might punish.

While it might not be as high profile a game as clashes between some of the top six sides in the Premier League, there is no denying that Watford will be a tough nut for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to crack on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds travel to Vicarage Road unbeaten in the league and with Sadio Mane just having signed a contract extension, things are looking rosy for the Merseysiders.

While Liverpool are one of the most dangerous and potent sides in the Premier League, Javi Gracia says he will not change his style of play to counter his opponents but admits his players will need to avoid making mistakes that will almost certainly be punished.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Gracia said: “We will be loyal to our style and play the way we usually do, but knowing we have to be careful with their players because they are very, very good.

“We know we are playing against this team and you need to play at a high level doing your best.

“It will be very, very demanding and if you make a mistake, they punish you.

“We will have our possibilities, but we want to enjoy playing the game and we try to get a good result.”
