Dominic Solanke Reportedly Undergoes Crystal Palace Medical Ahead of Move

The young striker looks almost certain to end up and Palace but competition to sign him on loan remains.

Dominic Solanke appears all but certain to depart Liverpool on loan, perhaps even as soon as the January transfer window opens, with reports emerging late last night that claimed he had already undergone his Crystal Palace medical.

That hasn’t completely stopped links to other clubs, though, and even sees a new one emerging today with Germany’s Kicker claiming Stuttgart would like to bring the 21-year-old England youth international into the fold this season.

There are also persistent links with Huddersfield and Fulham, both struggling for goals at the bottom half the table. Palace, though, remain the odds on favourite—and seemed as much even before The Mail claimed a medical was done.

“We are trying, these things are never straightforward but we really are trying,” was Palace manager Roy Hodgson’s response when asked about Solanke over the weekend. “It will make a big difference and we think it will lift everybody.

“For once, the papers are not miles off what we’re looking for.” I believe the chairman today has confirmed that there is some truth in the reports, and in my opinion it would be good if we could land a player of his class.”

All told, it would seem quite a turn of events at this stage if Solanke didn’t end up heading out on loan to Crystal Palace within the next few days.
