Jurgen Klopp’s diplomatic reply to questions about Paul Pogba

Jurgen Klopp refused to be drawn into commenting on whether he would like to have Paul Pogba in his squad ahead of Liverpool’s huge clash with Manchester United this weekend.

Liverpool are top of the Premier League table after a dominant 4-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend to take full advantage over Manchester City dropping points against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Reds seem to be moving into top gear at the right time as the festive fixture list always threatens to derail a team’s momentum with games every four days for some sides.

When asked about Pogba, Klopp replied: “I don’t know how much you ask Jose Mourinho about players from us? Does somebody ask him about Gini Wijnaldum? I think 100 per cent not!

“What can I say? Paul Pogba is a world-class player. That’s all I can say, and he’s a Man United player so I think we should prepare for him as well.”

When pushed to comment on if he’d like Pogba at Liverpool, the German said: “You know better than I, what happens if I give an answer to that question! So no answer!

“If you can make a story with that, that would be cool. ‘Klopp denies an answer!’”
