Mane available to start against Napoli with Lovren to be assessed

Jurgen Klopp has provided a fitness update on several Liverpool players ahead of tomorrow night’s huge Champions League clash with Napoli.

Sadio Mane is set to return after recovering from a foot injury sustained against Everton, while centre-back Dejan Lovren will be assessed before the game.

Mane missed the Burnley match but came on as a substitute against Bournemouth, and his manager has now confirmed that the attacker can play from the start against Napoli.

“Sadio can deal with the pain obviously – it looked like that in Bournemouth, so that’s cool,” Klopp told LiverpoolFC.com. “It’s good enough that we can consider him at least.

“We have two sessions still to come – we’ll train tomorrow morning as well. That’s very important. We have the meeting to do. In the squad there is nothing really serious after the game, that’s good.”

On Lovren’s availability, Klopp added: “We will see how Dejan is doing.

“Yesterday he was out on the pitch and looked quite well. Can he be part of training today or not? We will see that. Squad-wise, [there is] no bad news at least.”

Finally, Klopp revealed that Adam Lallana should also be available for selection after recovering from the head injury he picked up against Bournemouth on Saturday.

“He looked fine,” said Klopp. “Nobody told me differently. He was running yesterday.”
