Mohamed Salah’s Priority is to Win Trophies With Liverpool This Season

The star forward talked down individual accolades, wants to win with Liverpool
In an interview with Sky Sports, star Liverpool man Mohamed Salah said that he wants to help bring trophies back to Liverpool. He tells the interviewer that he thinks Liverpool, under Jurgen Klopp, can break the trophy-less drought that has plagued the Reds since 2012.
“My target last season was not only to break the [goalscoring] record but also to win something with the club,” he told Sky Sports. “We were very close in the Champions League final but this is football, we have to accept the result. This time also I can’t say my individual one but my target now is to win something for the club.”
“This would be huge for us as a team and as players.” Salah continued. ”It’s also a dream for the city and for the fans. I think this season we are going to do something.”
While they’re not the most groundbreaking quotes or anything, it is nice to see Salah is focused on what is important. This comes after months of hardship for the Egyptian international, which started with a shoulder injury suffered at the hands of Sergio Ramos in the Champions League final in May.
Talks of Salah being a one season wonder are a bit daft. He’s scored 9 goals and has bagged 3 assists in all comps so far this season. Should he score a brace against Everton, would see Salah break a record set by George Allan in 1898 by netting 41 goals in his first 50 league appearances for the club. That’s a stunning feat that’s been around for a long time.
