Manchester United approach club over exciting £25million Liverpool target

Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Steven Bergwijn and Manchester United asked PSV Eindhoven to be kept informed of any developments as Bayern Munich entered the race to sign the highly rated Dutchman.

The Reds have been in sublime form this season and lead the pack in the Premier League but have already set in motion plans for the summer.

The Mirror reports that Manchester United had a scout at PSV’s 2-2 draw with FC Emmen lass week Sunday and Berwijn impressed as he grabbed an assist during a tough game.

The Red Devils have asked PSV to be kept informed of any developments for a player that Liverpool have had their eye on this season.

With Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane the only natural wingers at the club, signing him would be welcome for squad depth as the Reds are more than lacking despite Xherdan Shaqiri’s ability to occupy a wide role.

The fact that Bergwijn is reportedly available for £25million makes a deal more than attractive but the idea of gazumping Manchester United is the most attractive prospect.
