Liverpool linked with move for £85million defender

Liverpool could be in for another big-money defensive signing this summer, according to reports.

Jurgen Klopp signed Virgil van Dijk for £75million in January 2018, though that figure now looks too low for the centre-back, who’s established himself as one of the best defenders in the world this season.

And now, the German manager appears as though he could be in for another player to partner the Dutchman at the back.

The Reds have been linked with a move for Benfica centre-back Ferro, who could reportedly cost as much as £85million.

The 21-year-old was the subject of a Liverpool loan bid two years ago, though that proved unsuccessful at the time.

However, the Reds are reportedly now ready to match his release clause as they look to bolster their defence further at the end of the season.
