Sky Sports pundit reveals concerning issue plaguing Liverpool in title race

Graeme Souness told Sky Sports that Liverpool’s inability to unlock low block defences in 2019 could cost them the Premier League title.

The Reds are now second in the table after a goalless draw against Everton and must now come from behind to win the Premier League title.

Souness says his worry about Liverpool’s midfield is its inability to play passes in behind defences and its something the likes of Mane and Salah will be struggling with.

Souness said: “They have a fabulous midfield and if you are playing in Liverpool’s back four that is the midfield you want, but if you are playing up front then maybe it’s not the midfield you want.

“They don’t create too much and they don’t slip clever and cute passes in and I think that’s where they are coming unstuck.

“Six goals from five out and out midfielders is not enough. I worry for them now. That’s another kick.”
