Carragher would love to see Liverpool sign £60million-rated defender
Jamie Carragher has admitted that he’d love to see Liverpool sign Matthijs De Ligt this summer, according to the Echo.
De Ligt’s side were knocked out of the Champions League in painful fashion by Tottenham during the week, with a very late Lucas Moura goal capping a superb comeback from the London side.
And Carragher, who notched 737 appearances for Liverpool, has urged Jurgen Klopp to sign the young Ajax captain.

“I’d love that!” Carragher said, when asked if he’d like to see De Ligt at Anfield next season.
“I have never seen such a good defender at 19 years old. He plays as if he’s 29 and at his peak already.
“You can only imagine how good he will be when he actually is 29.”
Ajax would demand £60million for their star player, however, which Liverpool may not be willing to pay after investing heavily last summer.
However, with De Ligt already a fan of Virgil van Dijk, a lower fee may be agreed upon to make the move happen.
