Klopp On Using Champions League “Pre-Season”

The boss discussed Champions League preparation.

While every other player on almost every other team in Europe gets to start their summer vacations, the Liverpool players have one more game to gear up for — and it’s the one that could save their whole season.

In just about two week’s time, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will head to Madrid to face off in the Champions League final at the Estadio Metropolitano. Liverpool will be battling it out for the second year in a row and look to get the right outcome this time.

“We have to do a couple of things in preparation for the Champions League [final], media stuff,” Klopp told the official site.

“We have to do that, then the boys will have a couple of days off and then we have two proper weeks as a pre-season for the Champions League final.

“We will do that, we will play that, [hopefully] win it, come home and then the people [would] get what they deserve.”

The good news for Klopp is that he has a nearly fully fit squad to work with. The only missing piece of the puzzle is Roberto Firmino, who will use these weeks to bring himself back to full fitness. Expect to see another group training session somewhere warm and sunny soon for the sake of group bonding and Instagram stories.

Tensions will build as we get closer to June 1st, but right now, hopefully the players can relax a little while before focusing on their preparation.
