Klopp to consider Ryan Kent’s position as Aston Villa circle

Jurgen Klopp is biding his time regarding a decision on Ryan Kent’s future with Aston Villa now keen on signing the player, according to reports.

Steven Gerrard is eager to take Kent back to Ibrox for another season with Rangers, where he excelled throughout the current campaign.

However, the Liverpool boss now wants to measure his approach with Kent, and will reportedly observe him in pre-season training before making a decision.

Klopp is content to allow Sheyi Ojo to be loaned out again, with a switch to Rangers likely.

And with newly-promoted Villa keen on Kent, who could fetch up to £10million, the Liverpool manager will allow any transfer negotiations to drag out over the summer in order to get the best possible fee for the player, unless he chooses to keep him at Anfield next season.

“Jurgen has heard a lot of good things about Ryan’s performances at Rangers and he has already made it clear he wants to take a good look at him during the club’s pre-season training,” a source revealed.

“Obviously Rangers would prefer to get another loan deal done as quickly as possible but it looks like they’ll have to bide their time on this one.

“It’s almost certain that no decision will be made until the end of July or the start of August when Jurgen names his squad for next season’s Premier League.”
