Leeds no longer interested in signing Liverpool midfielder

Leeds United are no longer interested in signing Liverpool vice-captain James Milner, according to Phil Hay, cited by the Echo.

Leeds were keen on bringing Milner back to his boyhood club in the run up to the Championship playoffs.

However, defeat to Derby County dashed any hope of a return to the Premier League for the Whites this season, with the club forced to settle for yet another season in the Championship.

Milner has admitted that he would be open to a return to his former club one day, with the 33-year-old nearing the end of his career in the top flight.

But with the chance of a lucrative promotion package now gone, Leeds are no longer in a position to lure the midfielder away from Anfield, as confirmed by Phil Hay.

Milner has made over 200 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Manchester City four years ago.
