Liverpool considering swoop for £50million Memphis Depay

Liverpool are monitoring Memphis Depay with a summer transfer move in mind, according to the Mirror.

The former Manchester United player, who failed to flourish in the Premier League after joining under Louis van Gaal in 2015 for £30million, has been a star for Lyon this season.

However, he’s now keen on a return to the Premier League, with Jurgen Klopp interested in securing his services.

The Dutch attacker has 12 goals and 15 assists in all competitions for the French side this season, and is now rated at £50million.

Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman believes Depay is ready for a move to a bigger club again.

“Memphis is dangerous in the box,” he said. “He creates goals and scores a lot of goals.

“He has been vital to Holland and has helped us get to the Nations League finals in June.”

Some outlets have suggested that the Reds want Depay as a replacement for Sadio Mane, who is being tracked by Real Madrid.

Liverpool, however, have no intention of letting their No.10 leave this summer.
