Reds aiming to raise £100million transfer fund through fringe player sales

Jurgen Klopp could be set for a £100million windfall from the sale of fringe players at Anfield this summer, according to the Echo.

A number of Liverpool players are on the brink of leaving the club, with playing time limited or non-existent this season.

Marko Grujic and Harry Wilson, who spent the campaign on loan at Hertha Berlin and Derby County respectively, are likely to be the subject of substantial transfer bids now that the window has opened again.

Liverpool value Grujic at more than £20million, while Wilson could fetch the same fee if he was to be sold. Reds fans would be loathe to seeing the 22-year-old Welsh international leave on a permanent deal, though, given his performances at promotion-chasing Derby.

Right-back Nathaniel Clyne, who has been on loan at Bournemouth since January, is also set to leave the club, with a £15million price tag on his head.

Following him out the door will be Simon Mignolet, who is understandably after more game time since becoming Alisson Becker’s deputy – he could bring in as much as £12million, though his agent believes the fee to be much lower.

Young players Rafa Camacho and Ryan Kent are also highly sought-after, with a combined sale likely to raise a further £20million or more for Klopp’s transfer kitty. Finally, the Reds hope to sell Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi for at least £10million this summer.

Alberto Moreno and Daniel Sturridge will leave the club on free transfers.
