Former England striker praises Liverpool defender

Former England striker Darren Bent has praised Alexander-Arnold after the young right-back put in another eye-catching performance for his country on the back of winning the Champions League with Liverpool.

The 20-year-old played in the Nations League third-place playoff against Switzerland last week and was praised by Gareth Southgate afterwards.

And Bent has now joined the list of those applauding the defender after a superb season for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.

“I like him, yeah,” Bent told talkSPORT. “I think in this country, again, we’ve got some real talented right backs the moment, and to me it looks like he’s maybe overtaken Kyle Walker now.

“He plays with no fear, nothing seems to faze him.

He’s played in big games, he’s played for England and he looks like he’s been playing for years.”
