Liverpool reportedly not interested in reviving Fekir deal

Liverpool do not plan on renewing their interest in Lyon’s Nabil Fekir, according to The Independent.

Despite reports in France suggesting the Reds were preparing a fresh approach for the midfielder, it’s understood that Jurgen Klopp does not want to pursue the 25-year-old again this summer.

Liverpool came very close to signing the Frenchman in 2018 for a fee of £53million, but the deal was pulled at the last minute after the player’s medical revealed a long-standing knee problem.

Yesterday, reports circulated that the Anfield side had resurrected their interest in Fekir, with the prospect of a lowered price tag appealing to the club.

It was even claimed today that the Reds had offered a five-year contract and a fee had been agreed.

However, despite Lyon’s eagerness to sell Fekir for around £45million, Liverpool have no plans to approach the Ligue 1 side in the hopes of agreeing a new deal again.
