Three Reds defenders in top four most expensive in the world

Andy Robertson has been ranked fourth in a list of the world’s most valuable defenders, according to the Daily Record.

The left-back has been valued by CIES Football Observatory at £78million after enjoying another fine season with Liverpool.

The Scotland captain joined Jurgen Klopp’s side in 2017 for just £8million from relegated Hull City.

Teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk also make the list with valuations of £115million and £100million respectively, with Aymeric Laporte of Manchester City (£94million) completing the top three.

The CIES algorithm takes in a variety of factors to determine the market value of a player, including age, goals-scored and club performances.

Kylian Mbappe was named the most valuable player in the world at a whopping £225million.
