Bergwijn: Van Dijk is “an absolute beast” for Liverpool

PSV winger Steven Bergwijn believes Birgil van Dijk is “an absolute beast” after the Liverpool centre-back enjoyed a superb season at the back for the Reds.
Bergwijn, who represents the Netherlands with van Dijk, scored 14 goals and notched 12 assists in the Eredivisie last season, earning a call-up to the national side last October.
And the 21-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months, was full of praise for the Reds’ No.4 in a recent interview.

“Van Dijk is an absolute beast,” Bergwijn said, according to Goal.
“Of course, it is good to be able to measure myself against him in training with the national team.
“But not just Virgil, they all play for massive clubs. I learn from all of them really. They all have a lot of experience and almost everyone plays for a big club.”
Van Dijk is considered a major contender for this season’s Ballon d’Or after helping Jurgen Klopp’s side win the Champions League last month.
