Adrian Eyeing First Clean Sheet

The team hasn’t managed the feat this season.

With Liverpool’s star goalkeeper out indefinitely, the fact that they have still managed to come out victorious from all four of the games that they’ve played is all fans could have wanted. Adrian, who has come in to fill Alisson’s very large gloves, has done an admirable job, but his performances have not been without the odd clanger.

Saturday’s game against Burnley is their last chance before the international break to notch their first clean sheet of the campaign, and Adrian wants to hit that landmark.

“A clean sheet for the ‘keeper and the defenders means a lot,” said Adrian.

“Obviously we want to win the three points, that’s the most important [thing]. But the second-most important thing is to keep a clean sheet. We didn’t get it at the moment.

“We are improving game by game. The last game against Arsenal we did really well, we played 70 to 75 minutes at great intensity so Arsenal didn’t have any chance to win the game.

“We go to a different kind of game at Burnley’s pitch; a different size and a different style of play of them. But we are preparing well for the game and we go there to get three points – and hopefully to get the first clean sheet.”

A win ensures that Liverpool go into the break at the top of the table, which means nothing at this stage in the season, but will be a nice mental boost for all involved.
