Doctor provides expert opinion on Alisson injury

A doctor from 3CB Performance says that Alisson’s calf injury is a Grade Two tear of the muscle which is a relief as it means the issue is not a total rupture of the calf.
In a video posted to YouTube, the doctor claims that the injury was caused by “the load in Alisson’s calf exceeding its capacity” which he describes as the basic equation for a muscle tear.
His estimated guess is that the goalkeeper will return within a six-week timeframe which is not far off what connected journalists have reported, with the Liverpool Echo claiming he will be out for between 4 to 6 weeks.
His replacement Adrian has had an odd experience filling his shoes as he gave away a penalty against Chelsea, won a penalty shootout to win the UEFA Super Cup before gifting a goal to Danny Ings against Southampton.
The 31-year-old Spaniard is clearly not on the same level as Alisson but that’s not necessarily a fair criticism given that the Brazilian has been the best goalkeeper on the planet over the last 12 months.
To be fair to the former West Ham goalkeeper, he did make a number of fine saves against the Saints including a point-blank stop to prevent Che Adams scoring a header.
With Alisson still out for several weeks, Adrian needs to step up and look to remove as many errors from his game as possible starting at Anfield against Arsenal on Saturday.
