Andy Robertson refuses to dream of invincible season
Andy Robertson told ESPN FC that it is way too early in the season to dream of winning the Premier League title without losing a single game.
The left-back said: “Not at all [thinking of an unbeaten season]. You know how tough this league is. It’s the most competitive it’s probably ever been.
“It would be great if we can, but the chances of going through a season unbeaten are very tough.
“We’ll try our best, but the chances of having a few bumps along the road is realistic. We need to be ready for that.”
Last season, Liverpool were a win against Manchester City at the Etihad away from completing an entirely unprecedented invincible centurion season but the Citizens beating them to the league title has only done more to fuel the Reds’ desire to win the Premier League this season.
It’s still early days but Jurgen Klopp and co. will take comfort in the fact that they are already five points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side despite the fact that only six games have been played.
The Merseysiders have already faced two of England’s Big Six but will soon face the ‘best of the rest’ when they host Leicester City at Anfield in just over a week.
