An Italian outlet claims the world’s best left back trained this morning and is ready to start.

While it’s far from a guarantee he will start, a report today out of Italy claims that Liverpool left back Andy Robertson was declared fit this morning and took part in scheduled training with teammates ahed of this evening’s Champions League match against Napoli.

Robertson suffered an undisclosed minor injury against Newcastle over the weekend, with manager Jürgen Klopp insisting at his Monday press conference that the issue wasn’t major and that Robertson was at least in contention to face Napoli on Tuesday evening.

That makes today’s claim from Gianluca Di Marzio that Robertson was passed fit and involved in training, while welcome, not a huge surprise—and in all likelihood it will mean another start for the 25-year-old who has grown into the game’s best left back at Liverpool.

If the Italian report is wide of the mark—or simply if Jürgen Klopp decides to err on the side of caution, saving Robertson for the weekend and Chelsea—the expectation would be for James Milner to be pressed into service at fullback tonight in Naples.
