Harry Wilson wins Bournemouth Goal of the Month

Harry Wilson.

Harry Wilson has won Bournemouth’s Goal of the Month for the free-kick he scored against Manchester City last month and the forward has commented on being handed the award.

He told Bournemouth’s official website: “When we won the free-kick Joshua King had the ball and I was desperate to get on it because I felt it was a range that I could test the goalkeeper. Kingy gave me the ball straight away, I really did feel I was the best person for it and thankfully the lads thought the same.

“Fortunately for me it went into the top corner, it’s what you practice all the time so to see it go in was special.”

The Wales international will spend the 2019/20 Premier League season on loan at Bournemouth and is doing his reputation no harm by scoring wonder goals from long range.

In order to impress Jurgen Klopp enough to earn a place in the German’s side for next season, Wilson needs to develop his all-round game a lot more because he has been a bit guilty of disappearing for large periods before popping up with a great shot or pass.

At the level at which Liverpool play, Klopp needs his midfielders and forwards to be very consistent with the way they perform and the fact of the matter is that Wilson currently doesn’t guarantee the consistency that the likes of Salah and Mane can.

He’s still young at just 22 years of age but this season could prove crucial in proving to Klopp that he has what it takes to be a key player in a team challenging for every major honour.
