Liverpool throw-in coach wanted by four Premier League clubs
In an interview with The Athletic’s James Pearce, Thomas Gronnemark revealed that four Premier League clubs are interested in hiring him.
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool were criticised and mocked for hiring a coach to help with throw-ins as there was a widespread view that such a role was unnecessary but that view has since changed.
The Reds have become noticeably more effective from restarting play on the sidelines since Gronnemark was appointed and the Liverpool coach has revealed that four Premier League sides have expressed a desire to poach him from the Anfield outfit.
Adding the Dane to his coaching staff wasn’t an unusual move from Klopp but just another move from the German and FSG to outperform their rivals in another way.
The Reds are constantly looking for unconventional ways to take the initiative and given the fine margins that defined the Premier League title race last season, having a goalkeeper coach could well be the difference between finishing as runners up or winning the title.
Liverpool came agonisingly close to ending their league title drought and with the Reds more mature and experienced, supporter are desperate to see them kick up into another gear and overcome Manchester City to win the Premier League this season.
After they proved their worth in the Champions League last season, now is the time for Klopp and co. to do the same in the Premier League.
