Klopp Gives Origi Injury Update

The Belgian was forced off in the first half with an ankle injury.
As the Champions League is set to start and the Premier League gets into full swing, the last thing that Liverpool need is for their first choice attacking substitute, Divock Origi, to go limping off the field after only 38 minutes. That’s exactly what happened on Saturday afternoon. The Belgian started in the match against Newcastle, with Klopp trying to give Roberto Firmino a break before the game against Napoli midweek.
Plans went awry when Origi rolled his ankle and needed to be subbed out at the end of the first half.
After the game, Klopp gave an update on the situation.
“Unfortunately, Div twisted his ankle early in the game and had to then come off,” Klopp said.
“We all hope it is not that serious. That he could play on could be a sign it is not that serious, hopefully it is like this. I think he will have a scan today or whatever and then we will know more.
“Of course, that’s not cool, he is in really good shape, so hopefully they will not find a lot in the scan.”
It didn’t look serious, but with Daniel Sturridge gone, Liverpool fans will be crossing their fingers and toes that the Champions League hero remains healthy for the run up ahead.
