Liverpool fans hail Georginio Winaldum
Liverpool fans exploded with appreciation for €50million-rated Gini Wijnaldum after the Dutchman scored a screamer against Belarus.
The former Newcastle United star is utilised as a very passive player by Jurgen Klopp and this has led to fans believing he isn’t capable of moments of magic in the attacking third of the pitch.
The truth is that Wijnaldum is one of the most technically gifted players in the Premier League and is up there with the likes of Bernardo Silva as one of the most press resistant midfielders.
But the instructions given to him by Klopp have misled fans to the full extent of his abilities.
Bloody hell Gini.

Liverpool should try and sign this lad in the summer.

Liverpool’s midfielders need to operate in a conservative manner by way of necessity as their fullbacks are constantly bombing forward to support the front three.
If Klopp allowed Wijnaldum to attack at will as well, it would leave the back five extremely exposed when being counter-attacked by opposing sides.
The 28-year-old doesn’t magically transform into a Philippe Coutinho-esque midfielder when he goes on international duty – that player is there at Liverpool but Klopp uses him in a drastically different role compared to when he is managed by Ronald Koeman.
