Naby Keita can still offer a lot, says Jamie Carragher

Jamie Carragher says that Naby Keita could still be that player in midfield who can offer Liverpool the spark they lack in creating centrally.

The Guinean has suffered a number of different injuries since he arrived at Liverpool but when he put a string of games together last season he was untouchable and scored three goals in 21 days.

“If he brings what he was supposed to bring, that would add something that was maybe lacking slightly in the midfield,” said the Sky Sports pundit.

“I think the one before Liverpool look to the transfer market is Naby Keita.”

There are a number of Liverpool fans on social media that are keen to see Kai Havertz join the club next summer but if the German was recruited it would make it difficult for Jurgen Klopp to persist with Keita.

The former RB Leipzig dynamo has all the tools and talent required to become a huge success in the Premier League and all he needs to do is remain fit.

Liverpool top the league table as things stand, with Manchester City trailing by eight points after eight games.
