Naby Keita has to be a guaranteed starter

Naby Keita.

Naby Keita has to be a guaranteed starter from here on out after his brilliant cameo against Manchester United almost rescued a win for the Reds.

The Guinean has been missing all season due to injury but has now made two appearances from the bench, including a two-minute cameo against RB Salzburg before the international break.

Unless he is still not 100% fit, Jurgen Klopp needs to start Keita from here on out as he is simply too good and too influential to be left on the bench only to be brought on for a few minutes.

There’s no guarantee of anything in football but if the former RB Leipzig star had been introduced at half time against Manchester United, the Reds would have had a much greater chance of winning the game.

The next month will be huge in shaping Liverpool’s chances of success this season as back to back games against Genk in the Champions League are mixed in with fixtures against Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City.

By mid-November, Liverpool could have an even healthier lead in the Premier League, have a firm grip on Champions League qualification and be into the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

Or, if they play disastrously, they could be out of the League Cup, face a horrible fate in the Champions League and have their lead over Manchester City cut short.

If Klopp plays Keita regularly over the next few weeks, Liverpool will pass with flying colours; he has to be a guaranteed starter.
