Naby Keita's sensational piece of skill vs. Genk

Naby Keita and Liverpool FC.

Naby Keita was clearly feeling in the mood for football when the Reds kicked off against Genk after using his back to pass the ball to Andy Robertson.

The Guinean has struggled to remain fit since he joined Liverpool but after he was handed a start against Genk on Wednesday night, he showed exactly why fans have been so desperate to see him in action.

The 24-year-old had the most touches, passes, most duels, most recoveries and the most take-ons of any player on the pitch at The Luminus Arena in Belgium.

If that wasn’t enough, he used his back to pass the ball to Robbo after just eight seconds which should have been a sign of what was to come across the full 90 minutes.

Liverpool will no doubt rotate their midfield again on the weekend when they face Tottenham at Anfield in the Premier League with Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum expected to come back into the side.

Despite that, the midfield trio of Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Fabinho is one that needs to be used in the games against the more defensively astute sides this season.

That triumvirate offers penetrative passing, dribbling ability and the kind of composure required to patiently break down a stubborn defence.
