Neville: LFC can't lose title from here

Gary Neville claimed on the weekend that Liverpool cannot lose the Premier League title from the position they find themselves in.

It’s a sign of how good the Reds have been so far this season that talk of winning the title has started already with Liverpool already eight points ahead of Manchester City.

The champions lost 2-0 to Wolves at the Etihad on Sunday allowing Jurgen Klopp and his men the chance to stretch their lead at the top to eight points.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said that injuries to van Dijk or Salah would change their title prospects but added that with a fully fit side and such a promising lead, it’s unlikely they will slip up.

Liverpool are yet to win a Premier League title and doing so this season would be a huge step on their mission to reasserting themselves as England’s best side.

They won the Champions League title last season and finished one point behind Manchester City in the league but while Klopp will be delighted with his side being eight points clear, he will be urging his players to remain calm.

There are still 30 games to go and as we saw last season, City are entirely capable of overcoming a large points deficit.
