Robin van Persie speechless over Roberto Firmino
Speaking on BT Sport, van Persie was stunned by Roberto Firmino’s skill on the ball after he demonstrated his talent once again.
Liverpool beat Genk comprehensively on Wednesday evening, scoring four times to win in Europe for the second time this season.
While Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rightfully deserve the plaudits for their performances in central midfield, Firmino was once again subtly amazing.
His first touch and ability to identify a pass into the final third is so impressive and when Mane played the ball into his feet with a little extra pace than he was anticipating, he instinctively returned the ball with a rabona pass.

Speaking on BT Sport [broadcast 23/10], van Persie said: “The touches he had, at one point he had three unbelievable touches in the space of six to seven seconds. The highlight was that backheel pass to Mane, mwah! That was…”
The Dutchman was a world-class forward and knows what he’s talking about so it’s great to see that Firmino is being recognised for his brilliant all-round game after being overlooked in favour of the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
The former Hoffenheim star has 7 goals and 6 assists this season, marking the best start to a season he has made in a Liverpool shirt.
