Spain coach provides David De Gea injury update
Spain coach Robert Moreno told the press after his side’s 0-0 draw with Sweden that David De Gea injured his abductor muscle.
The Manchester United goalkeeper will be gutted to have picked up an injury just days before Liverpool visit Old Trafford.
He is now a doubt to start the game and further worsens Manchester United’s injury crisis as the Red Devils now have 11 players out injured.
Speaking to the press, Moreno said: “He had pain in the abductor muscle but he received treatment at half-time and wanted to keep playing.
“He gave us his word, but in the end he couldn’t continue.”
Liverpool are in terrific form at the moment and look as though they can make serious strides towards winning their first Premier League trophy.
United will be desperate to do all they can to prevent Liverpool from winning on Sunday if it means it will hinder their Premier League title challenge but the Reds should be too strong for their rivals.
