Why Fabinho is undroppable for Liverpool

Fabinho.

Fabinho has become an undroppable player for Liverpool since he joined the club from AS Monaco last summer.

Much like Andy Robertson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho took a while to get acclimatised to the way that Liverpool play, with the demands of playing in midfield completely different to most managers.

Since then, however, the Brazilian has come into his own and was absolutely unbeatable at Anfield in Liverpool’s Champions League comeback against Barcelona.

On more than one occasion, the 25-year-old flew through Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi to protect his back four and even embarked on a solo run through the Catalonian’s midfield and was on his way to Ter Stegen’s goal before he was cynically brought to the ground.

There isn’t a single player in the Liverpool squad that can offer what Fabinho does and that’s exactly why he is undroppable.

Jurgen Klopp could get by for one or two games without him but an extended period without Fabinho would spell real danger for Liverpool’s defence.

Thankfully, our midfield beast has an amazing injury track record and should be able to avoid serious injury.
