Carlo Ancelotti believes he knows how to make Liverpool ‘controllable’

Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti believes he has the answer in regards to controlling Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on the pitch.

Ancelotti’s side defeated Liverpool 2-0 in Naples to begin the 2019/20 Champions League campaign, and they were also able to gain a 1-1 draw at Anfield last night.

Ancelotti believes these results are a product of how he sets his team up against the Reds.

Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by The Daily Mail: “We changed the players, but not the basic structure of the team.

“Di Lorenzo played wide on the left when we had the ball, then got back to help the midfield in a 4-4-2 when defending.

“Liverpool have enormous quality, but they become more controllable when they are forced to play within reduced spaces.”
