Jurgen Klopp sent a message at half-time to the squad facing Aston Villa
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp may have been in Qatar preparing his squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, but it did not stop him from sending a message to the young Liverpool players that took to the field against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.
Liverpool were 4-0 down at Villa Park come the main break. With all the senior players and staff in Qatar, stand-in first team manager Neil Critchley had the job of leading an incredibly young Liverpool team last night.
According to Standard reporter David Lynch, Klopp sent Critchley a message at half-time to inspire the young Reds.

This is just one example of the type of character Klopp is. There is no denying a message from a figure such as Klopp would definitely help keep a young Liverpool side motivated, despite the scoreline.
Liverpool went on to lose the game 5-0, but the match was more about young players getting invaluable time on the pitch against a Premier League side.
