Micah Richards sends title warning to Liverpool

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards insists that Liverpool need to keep an eye on the reigning champions as the Premier League title race is far from over.

The Reds currently possess a 14-point lead over the Citizens. Liverpool also possess a game in hand.

Despite Liverpool’s current position, Richards believes the title race is far from over, as mathematically, the Citizens could still chase down the Reds.

“Nope, I am not going to do that today,” Richards told Football Focus when asked to concede the fact the title race is over.

“It’s not over until it’s mathematically over. But I have to give credit to Liverpool, they are a fantastic team.”

Richards was asked again to clarify if Manchester City could win the title this season: “You have just asked me that.

“It’s not over yet, no. You fight till the end!”

Richards is certainly not wrong in regards to the title race. Liverpool have blown some leads over the years, which is why many will feel the Reds are far from home as of yet.

However, there is no denying this current Liverpool side are different to those Liverpool sides of the past. Jurgen Klopp’s team have the mental capacity to deal with basically anything.

The minute they are challenged is the minute you see the best of them. Liverpool’s next Premier League assignment is Tottenham Hotspur away next weekend.
