Michael Owen’s prediction for Liverpool’s clash against Southampton

Former Red Michael Owen is confident that Liverpool will claim another three points against Southampton at Anfield this weekend.
Liverpool enter the Premier League clash against the Saints having defeated West Ham United 2-0 in the Premier League at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night thanks to Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as they both scored goals.
The victory ensured the Reds a 19-point lead at the top of the table, which means the club only need eight more victories to ensure a maiden Premier League title.
Owen believes that the Saints will possess a threat against the Reds, but he is backing Liverpool regardless of that being the case.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, as quoted by The Sport Review, Owen said: “At the time of writing, Liverpool have yet to meet West Ham at the London Stadium in midweek, but we know they will have at least a 16-point lead at the top of the table when Southampton visit Anfield at the weekend.

“The Saints have won 69 per cent of their points on the road so far this season (20 of 31) and Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will provide Liverpool with another stiff test of their title credentials – but I think the Reds will take another step forward as they chase their first Premier League crown.”
Owen makes a fair point in regards to Southampton’s form on the road. It is very strong, but Liverpool have only dropped points in one fixture this season, which was the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October.
Jurgen Klopp’s side just haven’t given anyone a reason to think that they will drop points this weekend.
