RB Leipzig manager sends warning to Timo Werner regarding move to Liverpool
RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann has warned striker Timo Werner that a move to Liverpool may not be the best for his career at this current moment.
Liverpool have been linked with Werner in various reports. There have been suggestions that the Reds are in advanced talks with Werner regarding a possible transfer in the summer.
Liverpool are reportedly prepared to meet Werner’s release clause of €58 million as a result. Werner has stated that he admires Liverpool, which does suggest he would be open to the move.
However, Nagelsmann, who currently manages Werner at Leipzig, has warned the German forward about what a move to Liverpool could mean for the 23-year-old.
Nagelsmann has told Sport Bild: “It would be more difficult for Timo Werner to play at Liverpool than at Leipzig.
“He will not get the status he has here in the first few years and I tell him that too.
“The boys are seeing how we are developing and how much potential we have. We don’t leave anyone, who helps us, defenceless.”

The biggest fear Werner might have regarding a move to Liverpool is where he will fit in on a regular basis.
The only way the German forward could become a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s XI from the beginning is if Roberto Firmino were to play in behind Werner, which is certainly a possibility.
This could work, although it would mean moving to a 4-2-3-1. Klopp normally sets up his team in a 4-3-3.
