Timo Werner provides update on his future which puts Liverpool on notice

Timo Werner.

Leipzig striker Timo Werner has stated that England could be a possible option for his next move in his football career.

Werner has been sensational in the Bundesliga this season. The German has booted 20 goals from 20 Bundesliga matches, which highlights his quality.

He is also only 23 years old, meaning he is yet to reach his peak. The striker has been linked with a number of big clubs in various reports, and Liverpool are one of those clubs.

If the Reds are interested, his latest comments will keep the club on notice, as he has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League.

“When you score 20 goals as a 23-year-old in a season then, of course, there is interest. That’s clear,” Werner told German outlet Kicker, as quoted by Caught Offside.

“We are going into many important games. That’s what I want to focus on now. I can still contemplate my future later.

“What do you say if a club comes knocking, a club which is one of the favourites to win the Champions League and makes an incredible offer? Most likely every player would think about it.

“I can generally imagine playing abroad one day, although I don’t have any specific club where I want to be. I am open for everything.

“I was in America for a holiday recently and English football was on all the time. That’s an exclamation mark for the Premier League.

“But there are also big, famous clubs and it would certainly be fun playing there.”

This would be a terrific signing, as the youngster is only going to get better. He has the ability to be ruthless in front of goal, which is a trait many players do lack.

The issue is convincing Werner to start off as a squad player. The only way the German forward could become a regular in Klopp’s XI from the beginning is if Roberto Firmino were to play in behind Werner, which is certainly a possibility.
