Bradford City, led by manager Stuart McCall currently competes in League Two and finished ninth in the table at the close of the 2019-20 season. Lincoln City finished sixteenth in the EFL League One this year, having been promoted after winning the League Two title last year.

The defending champions Manchester City will also play in the third round against Bournemouth or Crystal Palace, while last year’s runners-up Aston Villa play Burton in the second round.

The second round games will be played in the week of September 14th, and the third round-games will commence in the week of September 21st.

Liverpool plays Chelsea on September 20th and Arsenal on September 29th in the Premier League. With Chelsea’s heavy activity in the transfer market, and losses against Arsenal in the past two interactions, Jurgen Klopp will look to field his first choice XI in both games. As a result, the Carabao Cup will present an opportunity for youngsters of the likes of Harvey Elliott, Neco Williams, and Billy Koumetio to shine.
